Timo Weiler

Quality Management Associate

Timo Weiler has been with WEIG since 1992. His father also worked for many years on the cardboard machines, which sparked his early interest in our production. He completed an internship for career orientation and then decided to train as a paper technologist, followed by further training as an industrial supervisor specializing in paper technology. Since then, he has taken on various roles and is now the head of a department at one of the cardboard machines.

What are your responsibilities at WEIG-Karton?

Together with my colleagues, I share responsibility for the product quality of the cardboard. It must meet our customers’ requirements in various criteria. In case of deviations, we collaboratively analyze the causes and develop solutions. This is a responsible task that I greatly enjoy. I can always rely on the support of my colleagues.

What do you like most about your role?

Among other things, I enjoy the challenge of continuously engaging with new production technologies and supporting their implementation. Another task that I find very rewarding is supervising the trainees training to become paper technologists at the cardboard machine. As a trainer, I assist in preparing the necessary reports and take responsibility for ensuring that all relevant production content is conveyed. The trainees can always turn to me with questions or problems. Supporting the development of these young colleagues also reminds me of my own start at WEIG.

Tim Hoffmann

Head of Production Planning

Tim Hoffmann joined WEIG in 2011. He completed his training as a paper technologist in 2014, graduating as the top student nationwide. After studying computer science and working in the IT department at WEIG Group Services, the trained paper technologist was drawn back to a production-related area. He started as a team member in production planning and later took over as head of the department. His development was supported by WEIG’s internal talent management program.

What do you like most about your role?
Constantly changing requirements and circumstances ensure a varied daily work routine and continuous challenges. Production planning is one of several key components in this process.

Why do you enjoy working at WEIG?
Despite WEIG’s size, the structure of a family-owned business is still clearly recognizable. The interaction with colleagues is very personal, and every individual is needed for the company’s success.
